Welcome to Philanthropy at CWC!
Philanthropy is one of the crown jewels of the Carolina Women’s Club. CWC is committed to making a difference in the lives of women and children in need in the greater Charlotte area. This is accomplished by serving in teams of CWC volunteers at the following initiatives:
🎁 Bright Blessings
Bright Blessings brings joy, care and hope to homeless and impoverished children by mobilizing community volunteers of all ages. CWC has led donation drives for items such as teddy bears and personal hygiene kits as well as volunteering at the Bright Blessings facility to pack and wrap items for distribution to women and children in need.

📓 Classroom Central
Classroom Central turns “Pencils into Purpose” by providing free school supplies to teachers who need them the most. CWC volunteers help to achieve this goal by organizing classroom supplies at the warehouse and filling teacher wish lists for their students. CWC has also led school supply donation drives for Classroom Central.

👧🏽 Lift Up Carolinas
Lift Up Carolinas (formerly called the Assistance League of Charlotte) is dedicated to improving the lives of children and families through community-based philanthropic programs. 📚 Promising Pages
Promising Pages makes books possible for more than 55,000 children in our region. They collect new and donated books and share them with under-resourced families, schools, and child-serving organizations in the Charlotte Area Book Desert. By giving children the chance to choose, own, and love books, they are closing the literacy gap, and opening doors to opportunity. CWC volunteers help clean, sticker, refurbish and sort donated books.

♥️ Safe Alliance
Safe Alliance provides life-changing services to women who are survivors of domestic violence and need safe housing. CWC volunteers have assisted with much needed supplies, donation drives and also brought some holiday cheer and decorations by hosting a tree trimming event for resident families. The Carolina Women’s Club Annual Holiday Luncheon in December also features Safe Alliance as its beneficiary.
