Mah Jongg is a four-person tile game of skill and chance that originated in China. There are many variations of the game but at CWC, we play American Mah Jongg. Our Mah Jongg participants range in ability from beginners, with knowledge of
the game, to advanced players – everyone is welcome to play!
Also known as "Mahj," the game utilizes racks to hold each player’s tiles and jokers. Also used is a card published annually by the National Mah jongg League (NMJL) that describes the winning combination of tiles. The objective of the game is to match your tiles to one of these winning combinations.
A National Mah Jongg League card is required to play. If you have a Mah Jongg set, please bring it with you. If we have lunch before game time, you do not have to purchase a meal; however, if you do decide to eat, you are responsible for your meal
expenses.
