OUR STORY

In 2011, Piper Glen residents Bearle Chamblee, Gunnel Greenhagen, Juliet Larson, Debbie Peterson, Kathy Ragland, Laura Dobson-Dalheim, Linda Franklin, Maureen Korzik and Patty Walsh joined together to create Piper Glen Women’s Club. Based in the neighborhood, the club organized women for purposes of social interaction, philanthropy, and friendship. To encourage the involvement of throughout south Charlotte and surrounding areas in North and South Carolina, PGWC rebranded in 2016 to Carolina Women's Club (CWC).

Since our founding, it has been our mission to provide educational, charitable, and social activities for women. Our crown has 3 jewels expressing our mission: Friendship, Philanthropy and Social Activities.

Our main crown jewel of Philanthropic activities allows members to become involved in giving back to our community. You can join a group to wrap birthday gifts, process book donations for children, place pink bows on mailboxes for Breast Cancer Awareness month, attend a fundraiser or do a dozen other things while having fun with your friends. Join in when your schedule allows. The Philanthropic Committee maintains a list of opportunities in which women can participate.

Our crown jewel of Social activities allows members to attend our fun filled lunches and evening events. CWC's luncheons give members an opportunity to gather and meet other members. Our luncheon speakers are inspiring and informative. Twice a year CWC holds fundraisers that benefit two of our Philanthropic partners.

Our crown jewel of Friendship allows members to attend any of our activity clubs; Day Time and Eventing Book Clubs, Bunco, Card Games, Couples Wine and Dine, Culinary, Girls' Night Out, Home and Garden, Mah Jongg, Simply Social, Spur of the Moment and Travel and Culture. Our activity clubs bring friendship, delight and enjoyment to all members.

CWC strives to serve as a welcome committee to those new to the area, help them become acquainted with their new community, introduce them to women with like interests and hopefully make new friends.

September 2011 was our inaugural social meeting to get to know the club. We have been going strong ever since.
