A Message from Our President

Building CWC's Future Together

September is here, and our 2026–2027 program year is in full motion! Across CWC, members and leaders are turning plans into action, creating new opportunities for friendship, service, community, and engagement.

On September 16, we will come together for our Kickoff Luncheon & 15th Anniversary Celebration — Together We Shine. We are delighted that four of our Founders have confirmed that they will join us for this special occasion.

Our Pre-Reception and Together We Shine Anniversary Gallery will open from 11:00 a.m.–12 noon. Come early, mingle with friends, and take time to walk through the Gallery, where photos, stories, and memorabilia will take you through CWC's journey from 2011 to today. Clubs and Philanthropy will also showcase the activities, programs, and service opportunities awaiting you in 2026–2027. At 12 noon, we'll settle in for the program and a relaxing lunch together.

Our first member focus group is also scheduled for September, giving members an opportunity to share their perspectives and ideas as we continue moving forward via a new Listening Initiative led by Terri Poindexter Smith and the MarComm committee. Registration is open today (see more under Spotlight on Marketing Communications below). Your voice and participation will help shape what comes next.

And there's more ahead. Cate Weir, VP of Web Administration is doing phenomenal work on the website – to ensure it is elevated, consistent, and comprehensive. She’s even begun branding guidelines that we will foster through upcoming marketing plans. Plus, Cate is our go-to resource for website technical support.

In upcoming newsletters, look for new content and features as we continue creating meaningful ways to inform, engage, and connect our members.

Fifteen years. One continuing story. And every member has a place in what comes next.

Warmly,

Catherine
President (2026-2027)

Hi Members,

As Carolina Women's Club celebrates 15 years of Friendship, Philanthropy and Social, we're taking time not only to celebrate where we've been – but also to listen as we consider where we're going.

This month, CWC is launching a Member Listening Initiative designed to help the Executive Board better understand the CWC member experience: what's working, what members value most, where we could do better, and what will help CWC remain a vibrant, welcoming community for years to come.

We Need Your Voice

The first step will be a small Member Focus Group. We're seeking members with a wide range of CWC experiences – new and longtime members, women who participate frequently and those we don't see as often, and members with different interests and perspectives.

Rather than filling the focus group on a first-come basis, participants will be selected from interested volunteers to ensure the discussion includes a broad cross-section of our membership.

See more about the Member Listening/Focus Group logistics and how to express your interest below.

Focus group space will necessarily be limited, but the listening won't stop there. Following the sessions, all CWC members will be invited to participate in a member survey, providing everyone an opportunity to share her perspective.

The goal isn't change for the sake of change. It's to understand what members treasure about CWC, where the member experience can be strengthened, and how we can build on 15 years of friendship, philanthropy and social.

Every member adds her own unique spark. Together, we'll help CWC shine even brighter.

Terri, VP of Marketing Communications

Hi Ladies,

This September marks the 15th anniversary of the Carolina Women’s Club!

I recently had the opportunity to look through memorabilia from the past 15 years, and it filled me with a wonderful feeling of pride and joy to belong to such an amazing organization. From the very beginning, Our Carolina Women’s Club has focused on making a positive difference in the lives of women and children, and I am honored to be part of that continuing legacy.

Our Philanthropy partners look forward to our continued volunteer assistance as we work together to make a meaningful difference in our communities. Please take a look at your calendars and see if you might be able to participate in one or more of the wonderful volunteer opportunities we will have available throughout the year.

Our charities for this year include:

  • Bright Blessings
  • Classroom Central
  • Dress for Success
  • Lift Up Carolinas
  • Promising Pages
  • The Pink Bow Campaign
  • Safe Alliance
  • STEM

We will be featuring each of these wonderful charities throughout the year and sharing opportunities for you to learn more, volunteer, and support their important missions. We will also be collecting requested donations at our monthly meetings, and members will be able to bring gifted items to be dropped off accordingly.

As we celebrate 15 years of Carolina Women’s Club, I hope you will join us in continuing the tradition of giving, serving, and making a positive difference in the lives of women and children throughout our community.

I am so excited for the year ahead and look forward to seeing the wonderful things we can accomplish together!

With gratitude,

Tammy, VP of Philanthropy

No-Shows

We understand that plans can change unexpectedly, and we truly appreciate everyone's enthusiasm in signing up for CWC events. However, late cancellations and no-shows can make it difficult for hosts to manage reservations, seating, and event logistics, and may result in unnecessary costs for the Club or the event host.

We kindly encourage members to register only when reasonably certain they can attend and to keep cancellation deadlines in mind. If circumstances change, please update your registration or notify the chair or event host at least 48 hours in advance whenever possible.

Your consideration helps us create smooth, enjoyable, and successful events for everyone. Thank you for supporting our hosts and fellow members.

Hosts Are Always Needed

Our Club thrives because of the energy, creativity, and involvement of our members. One of the best ways to contribute is by hosting an event.

Hosting doesn't have to be complicated. Whether it's a coffee gathering, lunch outing, game day, museum visit, or special interest activity, hosting is a wonderful way to connect with fellow members while helping keep our calendar active and engaging.

When you see a canceled event on the calendar, it is often because a host was not available. The more members who step forward to host, the more opportunities we can offer for friendship, fun, learning, and connection.

If you've ever considered hosting, we encourage you to give it a try. Your participation helps ensure a vibrant and welcoming experience for all members.

Cancellation Policy

All payments are final. Cancellation made after registration closes will not be refunded or credited.  Members who cancel prior to close of registration will receive a club credit. We do not provide refunds or credits for membership dues or donations.
